Today is the first day of our CSA (crop share association).
We bought a half-share from a local farm, and today was our first pick-up.
Can I just say that the giddy happiness I experienced was effusive?? My friend and I nearly did a happy dance in her kitchen. Though, now that I think of it, there might have been a tiny little bit of dancing. Tiny.
I'm also glad that we only got a half-share.
In this week's crate:
Cherries
Kohlrabi
Radishes
Long Radishes
Golden Beets
Beets
Swiss Chard
Misc. Baby Lettuces
Scallions
Romaine Lettuce
Swiss Chard
And there never can be too much polo:
Your veggie haul almost had ME doing a happy dance. Thank you for photo-ing its beautifulness.
ReplyDeleteThose veggies look amazing. What will you be making? I wouldn't know what to do with half of that stuff. I'd probably make way too many Dwight Schrute beet farm jokes. Did you get the "money beets"?
ReplyDeleteWhat are those light green things that look like iceberg lettuce with celery coming out of the top? I hope we get a report of the things you are going to make with all of that!
ReplyDeleteOh I am so truly jealous. We can't do the CSA this year. So I'm doing the happy dance for you. How fun. You'll definitely have to let us all know what you come up with for everything.
