Mount Monadnock is one of the most often climbed mountains in the world. We hiked it on a Saturday morning, hitting the trail around 8:30, and getting back down by 12:30 or so. The mountain was VERY busy by the time we were on our way back down, and the hike was difficult enough, I don't think that some of the people were destined to make it!
Here I am at my lunch spot at the peak. We found a little alcove that protected us from the wind. (A most refreshing wind, at that!)
Our hiking team: Seth Johnson (the day before he became our Bishop), Nathaniel, Zac, and me.
Showing our guns.
Can you see Boston from here? On a clear day you can. I guess a steamy spring morning doesn't count as a clear day.
How many millions of people have assumed this position in this very tree? It was at the foot of the mountain at a point in the trail before very many people would have turned back.
