For starters,
the winter chill is on our horizon.

And Blake's not terribly interested in keeping a blanket on.
Further, sleep sacks cost approximately four-thousand dollars each.

So I made one.

Blake seems to like it.
And most importantly,
he won't outgrow it for a while.

WIN-WIN.

Today was a gorgeous fall day,
so we headed out for some
wholesome recreational activities.

We hiked Wachusett!

SO. FUN.

And to make it that much better:
Ian hiked the whole thing all by himself.
Well...he wasn't ALONE.
He just didn't need to be carried.
We are so proud of him.

  1. You guys have very strong backs and lot's of extra breath !!!! I'm out of breath just looking at these pictures... I can't stand Wachusett ad's on the TV in the winter, the skiing ones with the brothers and sister.... I click mute !! The boys, well, all of you, look really great, very healthy. The sleeper for Blake is wonderful, are you sure his arms won't get chilly ??? XX GG

  4. Impressive sleeper blanket, Jen! I might have to put an order in ;)

Loving all the fall scenery from your neck of the woods--so gorgeous! We have GOT to get out & drink up some of the fall air before it morphs into WINTER. JUST.AROUND.THE.CORNER.

    yikes.

    I'm with G Pratt--your hiking made me tired. :)

  5. Is that a whistle around Ian's neck? In case he gets lost? I've got to remember that one. My boys would need it. Luckily here on the prairie you can see your kids for quite a while. . .

  6. GG--I've never seen the Wachusett commerical. I'll make it a point not to.

    Mich--Tanner can come over anytime!

Shara--you buy the fabric/notions, I'll make a sleeper. No problemo!

Jeanette--Not a whistle, but a duck caller that Joe's brother gave Ian. It's one of his favorite things! (But your idea to hike with whistles is GENIUS!)

  7. Oh that looks so gorgeous and so fun! I love the shot of Blake drinking from the CamelBak bottle- too funny. That looks exactly like the bottle that I drank from for 2 days straight (before, during after labor).

Hey- want to talk labor and delivery?
