From a guy new to New England, I would have much rather had the winter version of this Nor'Easter, because 6 feet of snow would have just been AWESOME! Floods? High water? We can do that in the south just fine! But blizzards are a new frontier for me.
We do live next to a swamp, but not with an outlet to a river like our friends the next town over. This is my good friend Peter going to buy some sandbags to try to protect his basement as the water was lapping at all four sides of his foundation. I'm hoping the water recedes for them tonight. They only have inches of leeway before reaching evacuation levels. They aren't likely to sleep very soundly tonight...

Wait, are those accurate asterisk counts??
ReplyDeleteNow I'm going to spend all day figuring this out.
Kevin Federlin... SHOOT.
Derek Zoolande... SHOOT.
David Duchovny
I FIGURED IT OUT! We're waiting for you, David Duchovny Jackson!
Liz, I love you with all of my heart.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Liz figured it out because I've been cleaning/organizing all morning & don't have the energy to be countin' all of those asterisks...
ReplyDelete:)
I CANNOT imagine canoeing to buy sandbags. WOW.
Although I WOULD love to have a canoe...
Glad you guys were spared some of the extra drama...hope your friends are all ok!
Wow. That is a lot of rain. Maybe Jen won't need the birthing tub after all.
ReplyDeleteThose look like there might be an actual name in the works! Huzzah!
ReplyDeleteWe're famous! We're on your blog! For those of you interested, we are fine and managed to stay pretty dry. The two houses next to us had to evacuate due to over four feet of water in their basement. We are feeling very blessed! Looking forward to sleeping tonight for the first time in 3 nights!
ReplyDeletep.s. what has all this rain done to the snowpile?!
