We're just over 1 week from our due date, and the nesting reflex continues to swallow me whole. For some reason, I was sure my brain would not allow me to go into labor until I scrubbed and organized every inch of my refrigerator. And for a long time, I sort of ignored the not-so-gentle urgings, since, you know, I wasn't terribly interested in going into labor.
Yeah, but...then I got to that point everyone told me about--the point where you're sure having the child out is going to be easier than having him in. So, in my non-logical-pregnant-brain, I decided that the only thing keeping me from having this baby was the state of my fridge. So last night I tackled it.
Good News: The fridge is fantastic.
Bad News: Pregnancy logic is clearly flawed.
Good News: It sort of makes me happy that Baby Boy likes me so much. I must be comfy.

And, as if I needed another reason....but let me present yet further evidence why I love Ian. This afternoon, when I asked him what he wanted for lunch, here was his request:
Wow, one week? You're so close--good luck! Yes, I also think it's fantastic that my sons think that "lettuce" (kale) in fruit and yogurt smoothies is totally normal--it is here:-)
ReplyDeleteAWESOME. Your fridge looks amazing. In fact, I found myself wanting to grab some stuff and eat it. It's probably a good thing that I am not actually at your house - you have good food!
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe you're so close. Hopefully your refrigerator will allow everything to go. WOOHOO! YAY BABY!
Your fridge looks AWESOME! Well done, Jen! I think cleaning a fridge at full term is NOT easy, so extra kudos to you for the effort!
ReplyDeleteBaby boy is enjoying his comfy existence...but it won't be long now!! WHICH IS WILD. I'm so excited!! :)
P.S. Jackson's in tune with Ian's lunch zen--he had cut up bananas, oranges, and pineapple--with yogurt on the side. YUM.
P.P.S. J has been introduced to more 'junk food' in nursery than his whole life. They're on a cheetos kick these days. UGH. Not only unhealthy but A BIG PAIN to clean out of his clothes!!
You crack me up. You really should write a book. I'd buy it. I'd make my friends buy it. I can guarantee three sales ;-).
ReplyDeleteGood luck this next week (hopefully not too much more). I'm so excited for your baby boy to get here! I know you'll do great!
