...has somehow grown into this big boy...
And even though he continues to remind me that "kids grow up, Mom," it doesn't really stop me from feeling just the eensiest bit sad. They warned me to make careful mental notes of baby-dom, as they would simply fly by in the blink of an eye. But I don't think any new mom really believes that their babies will one day be four years old and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance or sticking up for the North Koreans during the Olympics or touting the merits of cooking with real cream.
And when I say "any new mom," what I mean to say is, "Me."
Four is going to be fantastic. I can feel it.

Ah! This is the day! I couldn't remember whether Ian was born the day I met Mark or the day of our first date. First date it is. Happy belated birthday to Ian!
